FAQ - In-flight services - Meals
For all destinations and travel classes, we provide - free of charge - meals or snacks (depending on your flight’s duration), as well as beverages, on board all Air France flights. When traveling in the Economy or Premium Economy cabins on most long-haul flights, you also have the option to purchase one of our special “A la Carte” meals when booking your ticket in the “Review / modify your bookings” area of our website (up to 24 hours before your departure). Our “A la Carte” Menu offers you a wide selection of different meals, creating a truly unique culinary experience during your flight. Please note: if your Air France flight is provided by one of our partner airlines, you may have to pay for your in-flight meal in all cases.
If you need assistance during in-flight meals, you must be accompanied by another passenger. The accompanying person may be eligible for a special fare to certain destinations. For further information, please contact your booking office, travel agent or the Saphir assistance service.
For security reasons, the transport of liquids is restricted in the cabin. Only small quantities of liquids, gels, pastes, creams, and similar substances are permitted in the cabin (100 ml per container), and they must be stored in clear plastic, zip-top bags. However, the following items are permitted in the cabin:
- baby food and formula needed for the flight,
- specific nutritional products that you need for travel (in the case of lactose and gluten allergies, etc.).
These items are not subject to the maximum allowance (100 ml), and do not require a clear plastic bag. Please note: security officers may ask you to prove the nature of these substances, possibly requesting that you taste them.
We recommend that you bring a sufficient amount of baby bottles and food (including liquid food) for the entire trip. Also, be sure that your baby drinks a lot during the flight. If you wish, the flight attendants can provide a meal of prepared baby food. Be sure to request this when you make your booking, at least 24 hours before departure.
Breakfast includes 2 mini-pastries, a yogurt drink (containing sugar and dairy) or fruit juice, a compote, milk, and cereal. The hot meal (lunch or dinner) includes:
- a seasoned salad,
- a main course (usually chicken with pasta and grated cheese),
- sweet pastry,
- apple juice,
- cheese and crackers,
- a fruit compote and a dessert.
Meals and snacks are served on board all Air France flights, regardless of the destination and the travel class. However, there may be a charge for onboard meals if your Air France flight is operated by one of our partner Airlines.
Hot and cold beverages, as well as alcoholic beverages, are available all throughout our flights in every class. Our wine list was created by Paolo Basso, named world’s best sommelier for the year 2013.
